i love granny squares! my local branch of the nyc public library is offering free crochet classes. hopefully i will get there. i really want to learn crochet instead of always just knitting.

@Mary- Thanks so much! I will be adding a tutorial for how to make these when I get back.

@Boston Bee - It has been lovely. I even took my crochet out on a boat today...LOL

@Kerry_Kid Giddy - Thanks so much!

@gibknitty - check out some tutorials on YouTube if you can't make it to the library. It may even be easier to learn from tutorials because the videos are so close up and you can really see the stitches.

How beautiful! I used to crochet when I was a kid... nothing too difficult or fancy (didn't get to using patterns before life got busy and I stopped doing it), but it did it well and loved it. I think I learned to straight stitch knit, too. I wonder if these hands remember? Good for you for continuing on. It must feel wonderful to create such lovely things. :) I may have to take it up again one day.

@Corine... I find that I enjoy it more now that I'm older and have a smidgen more patience. It is such a stress reliever for me. I hope you do take it up again.
